With 22 horsepower pushing it to an average speed of 64.396 miles per hour, this streamliner can’t keep up with a Prius… But, it now owns the 100% biofuel land speed record. A team of engineering students from Utah State University developed a renewable biofuel derived from an abundant waste product of the cheese manufacturing process.  It’s the first of its kind worldwide and employs yeast to convert the dairy waste into fuel. Unlike feedstock-based biofuels, this fuel does not compete for existing food supplies.
