UF’s Sid Martin biotech incubator, celebrating 17 years, is experiencing a “mini-gold rush for our program” says Patti Breedlove. “In the last few months we’ve admitted: Prevacus, Inc., from FSU, developing treatments for mild traumatic brain injury; Prometheon Pharma, LLC, developing a novel transdermal passive patch technology; Zanagene, Inc. developing biomarkers to predict cancer risk; Gainbiotech, LLC, developing speciality organic chemicals; and MLM Biologics, Inc. a device company developing products for musculoskeletal deficiences and diagnostics in oncology and cardiology. ”
Last year Sid Martin admitted EigenChem Technologies, Inc. developing disruptive technologies for cleantech and biotech related to quantum dots and also turning large-scale polymeric wastes into value-added products. To date, Sid Martin companies have attracted more than $700 million in equity investments, contracts and grants.
