UM Life Science & Technology Park

With biotech markets booming in Latin America (from 2004 to 2007, science and technology as a percentage of GDP in Ecuador exploded 228% – in Venezuela an incredible 976%, by way of example), Miami is an ideal location for global companies who are seeking a foothold in Latin America and conversely, innovative Latin American startups who want to do business in the United States and Europe. That’s why Andago, a global medical IT company based in Spain, made its first foray into the U.S. with a lease at the University of Miami Life Science and Technology Park.

Àndago, the park’s first international tenant, has signed a lease for 3,500 square feet of office space in the first phase 252,000 square-foot building. Àndago offers a full range of information technology products and services for companies and organizations in the healthcare and government sectors. The firm’s services include development of open technology and open-source software, information technology maintenance and training, and third-party consultancy. With offices already established inPanama, Spain and the United Kingdom, the firm’s expansion into the Miami market is its first foray into the United States.
