Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark Sharpe moderated a summit on Friday, Aug. 27, to discuss progress of the life and bio science industry in Hillsborough County and its importance to the overall economic recovery. Mitchell Horowitz, vice president of Battelle Technology Partnership Practice, delivered the keynote speech. Federal funding, intensive networking and entrepreneurial spirit were identified as crucial to establishing the Tampa Bay area as a center for life sciences and alternative energy jobs.
