In an effort to promote regional economic growth within the life sciences and biotechnology industries, Florida International University (FIU), a member of Life Sciences South Florida, is collaborating with Palm Beach State College’s Banner Center for Life Sciences and The Haas Center to host the Life Sciences Industry Cluster Analytics Group. The Life Sciences Industry Cluster Analytics Group will be composed of key pharmaceutical, medical devices, and biotechnology companies who will come together as a focus group to discuss the workforce needs associated with Florida’s life sciences industry cluster.
Specifically, the discussion will be on ensuring access to the talent needed to drive your continued business success by a) determining current and future workforce needs b) identifying critical occupations and skill sets c) reviewing data that state policy makers will examine when making workforce training decisions; and d) advising on how to more closely align education/workforce training programs to meet the needs of the research and development arm of the life sciences cluster in Florida. Your input is critical to help us inform policy makers on how Workforce Investment funds could best support the creation of a pipeline of skilled professionals for life sciences industries.
This event will be held on October 26th, 2012 from 10:30am – 12:45pm at Florida International University’s Reagan House located on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus at 10777 Southwest 16th Street Miami, Florida 33165.
As the leader of your institution, we would be honored to have you and/or your Human Resources Vice President attend this event. Please inform us of other pharmaceutical, medical devices, and biotechnology companies that should be included in this initiative. We would be happy to extend an invitation to them.
